Airbike range
The Airbike offers the hang glider or paraglider pilot the ability to pedal their way to new horizons. Glide normally or pedal to outfly your pals. Airbike UK is the brainchild of
Rupert Sweet-Escott.
Pedal Power has various advantages over a motor in that it is Green, Silent and does not require fuel costs. Pedal Power allows the pilot to propel ahead of non motorized gliders and allows the possibility off taking from flat ground! Airbikes are ergonomically designed, lightweight and reliable, available in Prone or Supine versions. The possibility of having silent forward thrust is suddenly made available, making areas like National parks and other areas where motors are banned - perfect for Airbikes.
Airbikes are set to become standard equipment for the foot launced pilot. The pilot may either pedal a propellar for direct thrust, or pedal a recharging system for batteries or compressed air that provides an indirect way to propel the craft.
Direct propulsion
Direct propulsion is the most efficient use of pedal power. Using direct pedal power the free flight pilot can significantly increase the overall performance of the wing and you can take off when no one else would.
Indirect propulsion
Indirect propulsion allows pilots to release, at will, larger power bursts than would be possible using direct propulsion only from a stored energy supply. |
